Windsor Spitfires v St Mikes Majors - Dec 10-09

2 of the top teams in Canada played an emotional and exciting game in Mississauga on the evening of Dec 10.
Windsor arrived late due to traffic, but once they hit the ice, everyone knew this would be a great night of hockey.
Taylor Hall showed why he is considered to be the 2010 NHL draft first overall pick throughout the game. His World Junior Teammate Ryan Ellis also played up to his #11 overall draft position from the 2009 NHL draft.
The game came down to a shootout after overtime failed to …

TFC v Real Salt Lake

Real Salt Lake….. I feel like I could say stuff, but it would likely offend people and their families…
TFC at home on the last regular season game to be played on the carpet.
A TIFO of legend for the great Danny Dichio.
Like the previous week in the friendly home of BMO Field, the Reds put one in at the start of the second half.
That was all they needed to get the 3 points that kept them in the playoff race.
To understand what needs to happen for them to earn a …

Oshawa Generals v Kingston Frontenacs - Oct 12-09

Oshawa Generals hosted the Kingston Frontenacs over Thanksgiving weekend… the hospitality did not extend to the ice.
The Gens were up 4-0 after 2 periods and finished the game with a 7-2 victory.
The turkey may have slowed down the Frontenacs, but even a smaller amount if tryptophan would have been needed to give them the jump they would have required to get past the Oshawa team.

TFC v San Jose Earthquakes

Most win games seem to be the flavour of the season at BMO Field.
This was the case on Saturday, but San Jose was able to even the score in the 93rd minute to keep the Reds from earning the full 3 points at home.
The uphill battle into the playoffs continues and it is now a situation where TFC needs to win out the season, as well as have some help to get into the playoffs.

TFC v Colorado

The playoff hopes are still alive!!
The first game without Danny Dichio as a player and the youth had a chance to stand up and prove they can take the lead on the field.
Toronto FC gets a 3-2 victory at home and maintain their path to a playoff position.
Next game, we will see de Guzman… It is like Team Canada!!
DeRo, AliG, Brennan, de Guzman, Young Nana, Serioux!!
Great squad for the MLS representatives from Canada.
Shots from the game….

TFC v River Plate

A fictitious cup, with naming rights paid to TFC - Check
A hand picked opponent, to ensure a TFC victory - Check
A worn down plastic field - Check
TFC losing to a team that looked to have an average age of 19 - I don’t want to talk about it.
A loss at home to River Plate…. that is fine, as long as the team comes out strong for Columbus and Puerto Rico next week.
Here are some of the pictures, got some of Ali Gerba in his TFC introduction, was really upset that …

Macro Photography

Decided to play around with some macro images and this is what I came up with today.
Really like some of the colours in the flowers and might use some of images around the house.

TFC v Houston

On a day where we got to see Canada ousted from the Gold Cup, with the MVP being the referee from El Salvador, we were also able to witness the Reds draw with the depleted Houston club.
It was a dry stadium for the 1pm start and the double pat-down by the ever kind BMO security ensured a partially full stadium for the start of the match.
Dero netted the lead goal in the first half, with very few people in the Beer Garden to cheer it on, but a defensive lapse …

Pitter Patter Music Festival

From Thursday May 28-31, 2009 that Pitter Patter Music Festival took place in various venues, mainly focused in the Kensington Market area of Toronto.
The main focus was on local Toronto artists and it was great to be attend and take some shots.
The ‘wonderful’ red lighting leaves much to be desired and it brought back memories of a darkroom… the so-retro-it’s-fashionable-again decor at a few of the venues was a throwback to those old darkroom days too.
